Dove Cottage and the Wordsworth Museum
Visitors to Dove Cottage are offered a guided tour of the house where William Wordsworth wrote his most inspired poetry. He described it as a time of plain living but high thinking and produced his most creative work during the nine years in the cottage.

Alongside is the award winning Wordsworth Museum with extensive collections of original manuscripts and art works that interpret Wordsworth's life and that of his family and circle, including Coleridge, Sir Walter Scott and De Quincey. Special exhibitions are held in the museum throughout the year.

In the 3oW Gallery are challenging exhibitions of contemporary art which link to the same ideas which inspired Wordsworth and the Lake Poets. And the best of contemporary poetry is offered on Tuesday evenings between May and October at the Summer Poetry Readings season. Visit the website to find out more.
