Ha'penny Bridge over the Liffey
The Ha'penny Bridge, officially known as Wellington Bridge after the Iron Duke, was opened in 1816. The bridge acquired its name from the price of the toll to cross the river. The bridge was the only pedestrian bridge over the Liffey until the new Millennium bridge further up was opened in 2000.
