Bristol Tourist Information
A vibrant young city, mixing bands and bars, clubs and cafes, yet this City has a thousand year history as a historic port.

ss Great Britain
The steam ship Great Britain is a unique survival from Victorian times: the world's first iron hulled, screw propeller-driven, steam-powered passenger liner, and the only surviving 19th century example of the type. Audio tours of passengers' lives and authentic smells help bring the 19th century experience alive. Included in the admission price is access to the “Matthew of Bristol” which is moored within the same site (when in Bristol). The Matthew is a replica of the square rigged sailing ship in which explorer John Cabot sailed from Bristol to North America in 1497.
